The Energy Efficiency Directive (EED)
This is a binding EU regulation on energy efficiency, setting targets for energy savings. The directive aims to reduce the EU’s energy consumption by 11.7% by 2030. With energy saving requirements of up to 1.9% annually starting from 2029, both the public and private sectors are committed to continuously improving their energy consumption.
How We Can Help? We offer to structure and analyze your energy data to help you meet these goals quickly without large investments and construction. Our solutions are tailored to optimize energy consumption in large buildings, benefiting both the public and private sectors – in the end benefiting the environment.
/ Ensure Compliance with § 295 Energy Efficiency Regulations Using EcoVent
EcoVent is specifically designed to help large buildings meet the requirements set out in § 295 of the energy efficiency regulations. By offering advanced automation and energy management capabilities, EcoVent ensures compliance in the following areas:
- Continuous Monitoring and Energy Analysis
In compliance with § 295, subsection 3.1, EcoVent continuously monitors and analyzes energy consumption across your building’s HVAC systems. With our intuitive dashboard, you can track energy usage in real time, making it easier to manage and optimize consumption efficiently. - Energy-Efficient System Regulation
To meet the demands of § 295, subsection 3.2, EcoVent utilizes cutting-edge digital twin technology and machine learning algorithms to regulate heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. The system automatically adjusts performance based on real-time building needs, ensuring energy-efficient operations at all times. - Clear Reporting of Energy Efficiency
Complying with § 295, subsection 3.3, EcoVent provides detailed insights into the energy efficiency of your HVAC systems. Our dashboard and reports make it easy to demonstrate your building’s energy performance, ensuring you meet legal requirements to clearly express energy efficiency. - Fault Detection and Alerts
In line with § 295, subsection 3.4, EcoVent includes condition monitoring to detect faults or inefficiencies in your ventilation systems. When issues are identified, EcoVent automatically alerts your operational team, enabling rapid corrective action and maintaining optimal system performance.
/ How can we help you?
By addressing these regulatory points, EcoVent helps you comply with the law but also boosts energy efficiency, reduces operational costs, and supports sustainability goals with minimal capital investment.

§ 295 In new buildings covered by § 260 with a design heating or cooling demand exceeding 290 kW, building automation systems must be installed to control the technical systems.
Subsection 2. In existing buildings covered by § 260 with a design heating or cooling demand exceeding 290 kW, building automation systems must be installed to control the technical systems if it is technically feasible and cost-effective, cf. § 275. The installation must be completed by the end of 2025.
Subsection 3. Building automation as per § 295 and § 296 consists of the entire system used to regulate and control the technical systems. The system must be capable of:
- Continuously monitoring and analyzing energy consumption,
- Communicating with the technical systems and regulating them energy-efficiently according to the building’s needs,
- Expressing the energy efficiency of the building and its technical systems, and
- Detecting faults in the systems and notifying the operations staff about these faults.
